Would you happily repeat what you’re about to do for the rest of eternity? No? Then don’t do it.
How would you feel if you knew that “the eternal hourglass of existence” will be turned over again and again, and you with it, a “speck of dust” among the billions of others?
Nietzsche’s ethic simply asks: would you be happy if your life — as it is right now — was repeated over and over in eternity? If not, why not? What would you do to wish your life to be repeated over and over?
